The Aquarium in Kabelvåg
The aquarium presents all forms of life from the arctic waters of northern Norway, among them seals, otters, and all known species of fish of the region. Additionally, we will see a 20 minute film showing the most beautiful spots of the Lofoten in all seasons.
The gallery LOFOTENS HUS in Henningsvær
The road to Hennigsvær, called the “Venice of the North”, is one of the most picturesque, winding along the hillsides. The gallery shows paintings of the most famous living Norwegian painter, Karl Erik Harr, as well as the painting of the turn of 19th and 20th century. There is also an exhibition of photography of the white tailed sea eagle, and a slide show.
The LOFOTR - Viking Museum in Borg
A thousand years ago, exactly in this place, stood one of the largest Viking settlements. The remains were discovered over 20 years ago, and the estate was rebuilt. All the details were carefully reconstructed and the objects found by archaeologists were put inside. In an interactive tour we will see the life of the Vikings, take part in a banquet, or rather, a feast, tasting fantastic dishes, prepared according to Viking recipes, served by Viking Waiters and maids, and we will meet the jarl (chieftain) himself.
The glass blower’s cabin in Vikten
Vikten village on Flakstad Island with the steep mountains, the beach, the open sea, the architecture combined with the landscape, multi-coloured glass products and ceramics undoubtedly create the magic of the place and attract visitors. There is a possibility of ordering a lunch or dinner. Flakstad is also famous for its enormous, beautiful sandy beaches.
The gallery and pub MAGIC ICE
The gallery exhibits sculptures and installations made from ice, while the music and the pictures create a magical mood. An alcoholic drink is included in the price of the ticket.
The Norwegian Fishing village Museum in Å
The village Å at the end of the national road E 10 is one of the oldest fishing villages on the Lofoten. The local museum shows old fishing boats, the equipment once used, the world’s oldest cod liver oil factory and allows the visitors to relive with the guide the history of the village, since its earliest moments, hear about the life of the fishermen and their families, their beliefs and superstitions.
