Visiting Unstad, a small settlement on the Vestvågøy Island is an unforgettable experience. The village is surrounded by mountains on three sides, opening in a bay towards North, which makes it a perfect place for surfing. The bay is uniquely situated, while the never-stopping wind creates waves both for experienced and beginner surfers. A huge beach is an ideal resting place. The tiny Unstad had been cut off from the world until 1987, when a tunnel was driven through the mountains, becoming the village’s gate to the world.
